Get more students by partnering with schools

18 July 2011

We’ve heard from lots of instructors who have developed good relationships with schools and colleges in their local area. It’s not hard to see how a partnership like this can benefit a driving school, but there are also significant benefits for the local authority.

Many local authorities are now looking at ways of providing the same services for less money. This daunting task might sound impossible but can be done by developing the right partnerships with private businesses. Dave Spencer, Training and Development Director at Drive2U is an excellent case study on how this can be achieved. Drive2U was asked by their local authority to deliver Road Safety training into schools and colleges. Part of the training they do is for the new Pre-driver qualification developed by the DSA in 2009.

Dave needed an easy and cost effective way of giving away theory test practice materials to all the students at each school, which is why he got in touch with us. By using Theory Test Pro, Dave can give away free access to theory tests and see a report card for each student.

Two extra unexpected benefits that we’ve also heard from other ADIs working in schools are:

  1. automatic test marking – this can save lots of time particularly if you have a large class, and
  2. online access – since Theory Test Pro is available online there’s no such thing as the “dog ate my homework” excuse.

Download your free Theory Test Pro poster

To help Dave and other instructors like him, we’ve created a free downloadable poster to help you promote Theory Test Pro to students. You can customise some of the poster text by using Acrobat Reader. Once you’re happy with the text, simply print out and distribute.

Make sure that you use the web link to your personalised Theory Test Pro sign up page. You’ll be notified of any students that sign up through your page, be able to see their contact details and latest test results on their report card.

Let us know what you think in the comments below. Have you got a story to tell about how you use Theory Test Pro?
